Support the youth of Detroit Food Academy!

Please consider a donation to support Detroit Food Academy students in learning advanced leadership and culinary through our afterschool and summer programs. 

DFA's Advanced Leadership Program supports 20 high school students who have been invited because of their leadership qualities, active engagement, interest in food, and a desire to grow. Youth are given more agency over how their curriculum is shaped and executed with the chance to begin taking on structured leadership roles. Students learn more advanced culinary skills, are held to high standards for participation and engagement, and are exposed regularly to real-world entrepreneurial experiences. 

At the end of the schoolyear students execute an entrepreneurial/small business-based capstone project where they create their own pop-up restaurant to serve the public dishes that they created.

This year, in collaboration with Frame Hazel Park, youth will offer two curated dining experiences on April 23rd, first seating at 4:00pm and the other at 7:00pm. Tickets are limited and we expect them to sell out quickly. This year’s theme is Anime with a Detroit twist, that Frame has coined, “DetroiTokyo.” Advanced youth designed the menu and their anime character that speaks to who they are as individuals.

This campaign is running in correlation with the pop-up, hopeful to generate funds to put towards next year's Advanced class as they launch their culinary journey!
