Help me put some power and funds behind EE in Utah!

Hi! You've made it to my fundraising page because you're my friend, family member or colleague. I have the absolute honor of being the Executive Director of the Utah Society for Environmental Education. Day to day, you probably recognize that I do work supporting stuff like this:

Fostering learning and networking at our annual conference - can't wait to be in person again!

Offering unique and meaningful EE professional learning opportunities.

Being a trusted partner for schools and teachers as they bring learning outside.

But, I also do stuff like this:

Just casually squatting 237 pounds for a state record.

So, I'm sure you know where I'm going with this. Being an Executive Director is a lot like being a powerlifter. I'm serious!

  • You have to have a great team. When I'm lifting I rely on my coach and teammates. At USEE, I count on our great staff, our board of directors and our community of environmental educators to help me deliver on USEE's mission of promoting excellence in environmental education and community engagement to connect all Utahns to their natural world.
  • It's hard. Moving nearly twice my bodyweight in competition isn't easy. It takes time, dedication and training. Being an executive director of a mission driven organization often feels like moving around more than this. It also takes time and commitment. But, the accomplishments in both fields make all the hard work worth it.
  • It takes resources and fuel. If you know me, you know I love to eat! I have to be fueled to move weight. But, on an organizational level, we also need this fuel. I cannot do this work without your support - be it time, talent or treasure. Today, I'm asking for a financial contribution to support my meaningful work at the Utah Society for Environmental Education.

To say that I am proud of my accomplishments during yet another pandemic year is an understatement. We hosted a great conference, have taught hundreds of teachers, moved forward with developing an environmental literacy plan, developed meaningful goals and achievements as we work towards making environmental education more equitable and this list goes on.

Please join my team to help me meet my fundraising goal for USEE. I can't do it without you.
