On Oct 17 we lost our dear Uncle Ali Orandi, after a long battle with Parkinson disease. A devastating loss for his family who loved and cherished him until his very last moments.
Ali was a gentle, loving and compassionate family man who was devoted to his wife and children. His smile and kind nature instantly warmed a room. He will be remembered as a warm and compassionate person, someone who was generous with his time, and always ready to help his family and friends.
Ali extended that warmth and kindness to animals, and had a soft spot for stray dogs, taking them into his home or feeding and caring for them at his office. His first dog, Tuffy, showed up at his door injured, skinny and scared. He took her in, nursed her to health and Tuffy soon became an appendage, attaching herself to Ali’s side. Tuffy would walk the fields with him as he made his rounds, and jump in an out of the truck, traveling between farms. Many pets followed in Tuffy’s footsteps, including strays, ranch dogs, shelter dogs, full breed dogs and cats.
We are raising funds to make a gift to the Tulare County Animal Services shelter (through their donation arm, Friends of Tulare County), in honor of Ali Orandi and his love of his furry friends. The gift will be used to help improve the lives of the stray dogs housed at the shelter. Please consider joining us and making a gift in honor of Ali. Our goal is to raise $4,500 to purchase a play structure and toys for the dogs to be placed in their outdoor exercise and play area.
