This Pride Month, I’m raising money for Lesbian Health Fund, an organization whose mission is to improve the health and wellbeing for LGBTQ+ women and girls through funding rigorous, scientific research.
As a researcher, I know how challenging it can be to convince funders to support research on LGBTQ+ women and girls. Funds like LHF are vital for supporting early-career researchers to generate the pilot data necessary to get larger grants. In fact, LHF is the only organization that exclusively funds queer women's health research.
As a community member, I also know how little we know about our community's health! Without high quality evidence, our health care providers are ill-equipped to provide us with the appropriate care that we need.
That is why I volunteer with LHF, and why I am asking for your support for this year's Give Out Month, a month-long fundraising campaign culminating on June 30, the only national day of giving for the LGBTQ community.
My goal for this year is to have 20 friends join me in supporting LHF - can I count on you to be one of them? Every little bit counts!
