To my family and friends,

I think everyone reading this knows that Ken and I volunteer at our local Pine animal shelter (IMHS) where Vicky is on the Board of Directors. We have been volunteering here weekly for 18 months, where we walk the dogs and help at various local events and adoptions. Vicky is also fundraising chair helping IMHS to raise funds by arranging and managing local events. Our 2018 Trails-for-Tails Hike-a-Thon is one of our major annual fundraising events.

You all also know that Amber, Juno, Smokey-Joe and the late Rainy England are all rescue animals from similar shelters. The main difference is that IMHS is completely funded by DONATIONS. This organisation gets no tax dollars. IMHS is the only animal shelter for over 100 miles covering a large portion of Park County in the Rocky Mountain foothills. We find forever homes for many cats and dogs annually. IMHS needs your help.

So now I ask you to help me help IMHS.  If everyone just gives $5 or $10, together we can meet my $500 goal for this great shelter that makes such a difference for so many animals and to our community.  We rely solely on these donations.

Unlike a traditional walk-a-thon, donations are NOT per mile hiked.  Amber, Ken and Vicky are asking for a one time donation for the overall hike. Last year Vicky hiked 6.2 miles with Boo acting as Amber's stand-in as Amber had recently had ACL surgery. This year Vicky will hike with Amber at the beautiful local Staunton State Park, the youngest State Park in Colorado, just 3 miles from our shelter.

Please donate so IMHS can save more dogs and cats and provide them with safe and loving homes.

Thanks in advance for your help!
