Unwanted Puppies Need Our Help!

This picture looks like it belongs on a Sarah McLachlan music video for her song "Angel."  The lyrics "Spend all your time waiting for that second chance for a break that would make it okay" speaks so strongly to how these dogs living in neglect must feel every day.  In deplorable condition, there are 25, that's right - 25!, puppies living outside in a giant pen in rural Georgia.  Their elderly owner had a few unaltered dogs and that led to a serious puppy problem.  There is absolutely no way that the dogs' needs can be met in this situation.  Thankfully the owner is surrendering the puppies and getting the adult dogs fixed, but now steps in the rescues having to figure out how to transport, care for and get all these puppies into safe, loving homes.  They are all between 8 - 12 weeks old so we are hopeful that their sad lives will be a thing of the past and they will grow up to be confident happy family members!  Homeward Trails is trying to lessen the burden of the Georgia rescue by offering to take on 8 puppies but we need your help!  The rescue of 8 puppies is a big job but we know that with your help and sponsorship, these sweet babies will be thriving in the DC area in no time.
