Anita Jennings
Transplant Type: Kidney
Anita Jennings is awaiting a new lease on life. Two years ago, she was diagnosed with kidney failure. She’s now on dialysis, which takes a toll on her quality of life and leaves her very tired. Doctors say a kidney transplant is critical to her survival.
During this difficult time, Anita is grateful for the love and support of her family and friends. She looks forward to receiving a transplant and having the energy to lead the active life she once led. She wants nothing more than to have her health restored so she can play with her grandchildren and travel with her family. But right now, she needs your help.
The average kidney transplant costs more than $335,000. And that’sonly the beginning. Even with insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant costs, Anita still faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they’re as critical to her survival as the transplant itself.
When she receives her transplant, Anita will have to temporarily relocate to be near the transplant center during the recovery process, incurring substantial expenses for travel, food, and lodging. Due to her declining health, Anita had to stop working, further adding to the financial strain.
You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to NFT in honor of Anita. If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the South Carolina Transplant Fund, 3249 W. Sarazens Cir, Ste 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Anita Jennings” on the memo line.
Thank you for your generosity!
