Transplant Type: Double Lung

Anizza Muniz Rivera is awaiting a new lease on life. In 2013, she was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. A year later, a biopsy revealed she also suffers from emphysema. Since then, her lung function has declined and she now requires the use of supplemental oxygen to help her breathe. Doctors say a double-lung transplant is critical to her survival. Before she can be added to the transplant waiting list, she is required to raise funds. 

During this difficult time, Anizza is thankful for the love and support of her fiancé, Mario, and her family and friends. She has three children and one granddaughter, and her illness causes them a lot of worry. Anizza looks forward to receiving a transplant that will free her from supplemental oxygen and allow her to live her life to the fullest. She enjoys going to the beach with her family, but her health prevents her from being able to visit there now. Anizza wants nothing more than to be healthy so she can see her children succeed in life and watch her grandchildren grow up. But right now, she needs your help.

The average double-lung transplant costs more than $1 million, and that’s only the beginning. Even with health insurance, which will cover a the cost of her transplant, she faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they’re as critical to her survival as the transplant itself. Anizza’s declining health forced her to stop working, further adding to her financial burdens. 

Hola:Me llamo Anizza Muniz soy madre soltera de 3 ninos y hace 4 anos me diagnosticaron con COPD, FIBROSIS PULMONAR Y ENFISEMA PULMONAR. En Puerto Rico me hicieron muchos estudios y a cada rato estaba hospitalizada con Pulmonia lo que me imposibilitaba poder respirar con normalidad, los medicos decidieron que para que mi calidad de vida cambiara tenia que viajar a los Estados Unidos y dejar atras mi familia para poder tener una mejor salud. Llegue aca a a la Florida ya voy a cumplir dos anos y aca los medicos me facilitaron el oxigeno 24 horas ya que no puedo caminar si un tanque de oxigeno porque se me hace casi iposible. Hace alrededor de 2 meses que los medicos me hablaron de un Trasnplante bilateral de Pulmon ya que ambos pulmones ya no funcionan como deben funcionar me han hecho un sinnumero de estudios necesarios para dicha cirugia, solo necesito que me ayuden con lo que puedan esta operacion es sumamente costosa y se me hace imposible costear tanto dinero para medicamentos. Solo les pido que me ayuden con lo que puedan deseo vivir por mi y mis 3 hijos y quiero volver a ver a mi nieta y a mis padres nuevamente. Les agradeceria la ayuda que me puedan brindar se los agradeceria en el alma
