In 2024 there were 162 law enforcement officers and 20 K9s who died in the line of duty in the United States. In Illinois, we had two recognized law enforcement officers and one K9 that died in the line of duty. Cycle Across Illinois is a fundraising event where active and retired law enforcement officers, surviving friends and family members, and others who care deeply about supporting the families and departments of officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, ride approximately 350 miles across the state to raise money and awareness for the Illinois chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors. Each day as we travel across the state, we are welcomed by grateful families, departments and communities as we pause to remember fallen officers. We all work hard to minimize our expenses so that more money can directly assist the families of these officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Please consider a donation to Plainfield Police. We thank you in advance for your support!
