2021 SGMP Virtual Supply Drive for Free 2 Teach

Each year, SGMP selects a charity to support in the city hosting the NEC conference. It is often a fantastic way to do a good deed and meet someone new with a common interest! 

The 2021 NEC National Charity is Free2Teach! Their mission is to provide free resources to teachers in Madison County’s three public school systems. These resources are available to more than 3,800 full-time classroom teachers and their 53,000 students, improving the educational experience of children and strengthening the community’s future workforce. Free 2 Teach connects teachers with resources including traditional school supplies, office supplies, furniture, room decor, craft items, books, math and science resources, and even re-usable 3-D biology models available through the STEM Lending Library. Since 2013, there have been 11, 621 teacher visits to Free 2 Teach.

The funds raised at this year's conference will go directly to supporting the free teacher supply store and ensuring that no child has to go without the resources they need to succeed in the classroom.
