Took a Turn for the Worse
We had an appointment scheduled for mid-September for her dermatologist appointment. But Baby Girl had a few rough days and the dermatologist had a cancelation and squeezed her in.
The damage under the bandage was worse than we thought. She had to have her skin lasered to get rid of some dead and decaying skin. We need to treat her aggressively to ward off infection and give her relief.
She has been rolling around, trying to get her bandages off. She's clearly in pain. While we're giving her medicine for that, we want to get her fixed up so this is a thing of the past for her.
Because she's required more treatment than we initially expected, we've increased her goal.

When Baby Girl entered the shelter, they thought she was suffering from chemical burns that needed time to heal. She's spent almost every day since with her body wrapped in a bandage to keep from ripping her skin off. Even in the areas she can't reach, she has open sores that tax her body and sag her spirits.
At this point, she needs to see the dermatologist because it's believed to be allergy related. That's why her skin isn't improving and in some places is getting worse. The sooner we can get her checked out, hopefully we can start to ease her suffering.
