The "Be Not Afraid" Initiative

St. John Paul II taught us, "Do not be afraid. Open, I say, open wide the doors for Christ."

This year, we were heartbroken by the tragic events that took place at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. As a Catholic school community, we lift the families up and stand in solidarity and sorrow with them. No student should enter a church fearful of praying together. 

The safety and well-being of our students has always been a top priority for us. Over the years, we have strengthened our safety procedures through layered security measures—including controlled access, camera monitoring, detailed emergency protocols, and ongoing training. We are proud of the progress we have made and grateful for the support of the diocese in this essential work.

Following the tragedy in Minneapolis, we were able to add a visible police presence to our campus for three hours each week surrounding our School Mass. 

This Giving Tuesday, Our Lady of Grace Catholic School is raising funds to cover the cost of Greensboro Police presence at our School Masses through the end of the 2025-2026 School Year.
