Dear Family and Friends,

My name is Austin Smith, and I need your help.

I am a senior at Mountain Island Charter School in Mount Holly, NC, and this year I have been selected to take part in the Kappa Beautillion Militaire Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Kappa Foundation of Charlotte and the Charlotte Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. 

This program exists to raise scholarship funds for young men while also shaping our character, leadership, and sense of purpose as we prepare for adulthood. Being chosen to take part is something I don’t take lightly, and I am proud to be a part of the class that will be presented on May 2, 2027.

Outside the classroom, I stay busy with HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) where I participate in the competition team, and Interact Club. I am also a member of the Track and Field Team. All of these have pushed me to sharpen my leadership skills and stay engaged in service to my school and my community. Once I get to college, I intend to keep that momentum going by joining other community service organizations. A few highlights from my time in high school so far:

• 3 Year North Carolina High School Athletic Association Scholar Athlete

• AB Honor Roll 

• A member of the math team that placed third at the National Kappa League Conference

After graduation, I plan to major in dentistry and continue on the path toward becoming a dentist. A contribution from you would go a long way toward helping me earn this scholarship and ease the cost of my education.

This is a taxable donation, and a receipt can be provided upon request.

The deadline for the donation is March 16th, 2027, for ads and patrons to be listed in the souvenir booklet. A Beautillion Donation and Ad form and a self-addressed stamped envelope are enclosed for your convenience.

April 16th, 2027, is the deadline for all donations.
