Beau Jaylen Johnson

Dear Family and Friends,

My name is Jaylen Johnson, and I am presently a senior at Olympic High School in Charlotte, NC.  I am participating in the Kappa Beautillion Militaire Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Kappa Foundation of Charlotte and the Charlotte Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.

The Beautillion is used as a vehicle to raise funds for scholarships, as well as build character, enhance positive moral and social growth, and leadership skills of young men moving into young adulthood. To be involved in this organization is a prestigious affair, and I feel honored to have been recommended and selected to participate in the program.

I have a strong passion for sports, video editing, and content creation. I create sports edits, primarily focused on football and basketball, and have grown my social media platform to more than 11,400 followers. Through editing, I have developed my creativity, patience, attention to detail, and ability to tell compelling stories through sports. What began as a hobby has grown into a passion that I hope to turn into a career.

Beyond my passion for sports and content creation, I serve as the Youth Department President at my church and actively give back to my community through volunteering and service. I have volunteered with the SMBC Food Ministry, participated as a member of Mountain Climbers, supported the Urban League BTS Giveaway, and helped pack blessing bags for people experiencing homelessness. These experiences have strengthened my leadership, compassion, and commitment to making a positive impact in my community.

My goal after high school is to attend a 4 year college and pursue a career in Mass Communications with a focus in Digital Media. I want to continue developing my skills in video editing, storytelling, and digital media while eventually working in the sports industry. I believe the experiences and leadership opportunities provided through the Beautillion will help prepare me for that future.
