Dear Family and Friends,

My name is John Henderson III, and I am presently a senior at Mountain Island Charter School in Charlotte, NC. I am incredibly honored to announce that I am participating in the Kappa Beautillion Militaire Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Kappa Foundation of Charlotte and the Charlotte Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

The Beautillion serves as a vital vehicle to raise funds for college scholarships, while also building character, enhancing social growth, and developing the leadership skills of young men as we transition into adulthood. Being involved in this organization is a prestigious milestone, and I feel truly privileged to have been recommended and selected to participate in the program, which will convene in the spring of 2027.

Throughout high school, I have made it a priority to stay active and engaged in my learning. I am a A-B Honor role student and I am deeply involved in athletics, playing basketball for both my school and my past AAU team. Additionally, I am passionate about developing my leadership skills and will be joining the Student Government Association when our school clubs open this Tuesday, August 25th. I take all honors classes (Math IV, English IV, and Economics and Personal Finance) and I am partaking in dual enrollment classes that include Music Appreciation, Intro to Programming and Logic, and Public Speech. Last year I was nominated for the NCHSAA Scholar Athlete Award by holding a weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher during the winter of 2025 and early 2026.

My current and future activities include:

• School and former AAU Basketball (Point Guard / Shooting Guard)

• Future school clubs 

Upon graduating from high school, I plan to pursue a degree in either Cybersecurity or Finance. My ultimate goal is to become an Information Security Analyst to help protect critical digital infrastructure, or a Financial Analyst to help guide strategic economic decisions. Your generous gift will enable me to earn a scholarship and greatly assist me in financing my college education.
