Dear Family and Friends,
I hope you’re doing well. I’m excited to share an important milestone in my senior year at Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology. I’ve been selected to participate in the Charlotte Kappa Beautillion Militaire Scholars Program, a leadership and scholarship initiative that prepares young men for success in college, career, and life. The program focuses on academic excellence, cultural awareness, personal development, mentorship, and community service—values that reflect the goals I’ve set for myself.
Throughout high school, I’ve worked hard to grow academically, athletically, and personally. Some of the experiences that have shaped me include:
- JROTC (9th–11th grades), where I learned discipline, responsibility, and leadership.
- Varsity Swim Team, serving as team captain in 10th and 11th grades.
- High School Golf Team, representing my school with pride.
- Honor Roll student every year of high school.
- National Honor Society member, committed to scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
- Youth Usher at The Park Church, serving my church community.
- Community volunteer, giving back whenever I can.
After graduating, I plan to attend college and major in Mechanical Engineering. My long‑term goal is to become a NASCAR engineer and help increase diversity within the sport by bringing new perspectives, representation, and innovation to the field. This is a dream I’ve been working toward, and the Beautillion Militaire Scholars Program is helping me build the leadership, confidence, and preparation I need to take the next steps.
One of my goals as a Beautillion Militaire Scholar is to raise a minimum of $2,500, which will go directly toward my college education and help me begin my engineering journey with a strong foundation. The program encourages each participant to build a circle of supporters who believe in their potential and want to invest in their future.
If you feel led to support me—whether through encouragement, attendance at program events, or financial contributions—I would be truly grateful. Your support will help me meet my scholarship goals and fully participate in everything this program offers.
Thank you for always being in my corner and for helping me continue striving toward excellence. I appreciate each of you more than you know.
With gratitude, Justin Rouse
