Daniela Escudero wants to participate in the 2019 Biodynamic Conference so that she can deepen her understanding and practice of biodynamics and share it with her community in Colorado. However, like many emerging biodynamic farmers and land stewards, Daniela's financial resources are limited and she won't be able to attend the conference without support.

You can empower 100+ people like Daniela to deepen their biodynamic practices and bring health to their land and communities by donating to the Biodynamic Scholarship Fund.

Born and raised in Ecuador, Daniela was first introduced to biodynamics in 2017 during a permaculture design course in Colorado. She immediately connected deeply with the practices and elected to support a biodynamic herb garden the following season, where she experienced the planting calendar awakening “an awareness within me that connected me to the earth and my surroundings.” This inspired her to pursue a biodynamic intensive program where she engaged with animals and experienced a “sacred way of interacting with life, beautiful and visceral, life and death, with gratitude and reverence and joy.”

Daniela is intent on continuing her journey to deepen her understanding and practice of biodynamics, as she feels deeply that biodynamics brings balance to our culture and healing the earth, the practitioners, and the communities that benefit from it.

Daniela sees the Biodynamic Conference as a key way to continue to learn, evolve, and serve her community.

“There is so much to learn and so many dedicated people walking their talk,” she says. “I want to learn from those people and see what is possible and what I can bring back to my community to apply those lessons. The world is so broken and hurt, and I have found so much healing through nurturing my relationship with the land and the community around me.”

A scholarship for one person to participate in the 2019 Biodynamic Conference with meals costs $300. Our goal is to raise $30,000 so that at least 100 emerging biodynamic stewards who would otherwise be excluded can be part of the vibrant conference community and gain new energy and inspiration to bring home.

Your generous donation will equip and mobilize more practitioners like Daniela with the tools, knowledge, and insight they need to practice biodynamic agriculture in their own communities.

Through your support, Daniela and many others can bring their learnings back to their communities. Daniela believes that “it is important to make these practices accessible to all who need or want them” and hopes to help “people experience the joy of being in direct contact with what nourishes them—emotionally, spiritually, and physically.”

With YOUR support, next-generation farmers like Daniela can receive the education, connections, and insights they need in order to successfully steward the future of biodynamic agriculture, bringing us one step closer to a healthy, vibrant, and equitable food system.
