 Blair Snyder is awaiting a new lease on life. While in college, he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Over the years, his illness has taken a toll on his kidneys and caused them to fail. Now, doctors now say a kidney and pancreas transplant is necessary for his survival. While awaiting his transplant, he endures regular dialysis treatments, which take a toll on his quality of life.

This has been a difficult time for Blair, as he’s used to being much more independent and active. Before his health began to decline, Blair enjoyed playing video games, anything basketball, and spending time with his friends and family, but these days his activities are extremely limited. He looks forward to being healthy enough to return to work, travel to visit friends and family, and feel normal again, but right now, he needs your help.

Unfortunately, Blair’s hope for a new life comes at a very high price.  The average kidney and pancreas transplant costs approximately $713,000. And that’s only the beginning. Even with health insurance, which will cover the cost of the transplant, he faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of his life, he will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they’re as critical to his survival as the transplant itself. Because on his health condition, he was forced to stop working, adding to the financial strain.
