Teddy's NW Goldberg Cares Fundraiser

Greetings!

On behalf of  NW Goldberg Cares, a grassroots community development corporation. I am   EXCITED to announce their participation in the 2020 Rock Family of Companies Community Challenge!

   Since the summer of 2019, they have...

• Built three open and accessible community parks on formally blighted lots

Installed four community message boards in a rapid response effort to share information regarding COVID-19 to neighbors lacking internet access

• Launched a virtual reading program to promote children's literacy, reaching 5,281 people

Donations from this year’s challenge will go towards the following initiatives to help continue to improve Detroit’s NW Goldberg neighborhood:

LAUNCH THE 20 BY '25 CAMPAIGN

NW Goldberg Cares’ 20 BY ‘25 INITIATIVE looks to activate 20 public green spaces by December 31, 2025. This includes a combination of pocket parks, recreation parks, community gardens, fitness plots, and more, designed for residents and visitors to have safe, comfortable, and healthy places to explore in the NW Goldberg neighborhood.

ACTIVATION OF THE FORMER FERRY PARK COMMERCIAL CORRIDOR

We will be undertaking a comprehensive community-led planning study to identify what residents and business owners want to see in their community. From there, we will begin attracting and retaining businesses that fill gaps that currently exist within the NW Goldberg neighborhood.

Your donations will go directly towards rebuilding our historic, yet forgotten, neighborhood and supporting nearly 2,000 residents that live there.
