Brett Earnest for CYT & Volunteers in Medicine

Brett Earnest’s love of dance began 37 years ago in-utero. His mother nicknamed him the Jitter Bug while she was pregnant due to his incessant kicks to her bladder. His first steps at 12 months were actually tap. He was the only kid who was disappointed to go to Disney World, because he thought it was Waltz Disney World. He was no stranger on the dance floors of homecoming and prom dances in high school, where he perfected his solo contemporary moves. His later dance experience includes hip hop nights with his college roommates in Austin, Bollywood performances during med school multicultural nights, and frequent living room dance parties. He can be seen around town wearing a variety of hats and usually attends each CYT performance in his own original costume.

 Today Brett Earnest is a family medicine physician who enjoys seeing all ages of children and adults. He has delivered many New Braunfels babies during his 6 years practicing here, and loves watching families grow healthy. He is married to Julie and they have 3 adventurous and lively children - Canon (8), Everett(6), and Marie(2). Brett hails from southern Louisiana and can craft an impressive gumbo in the kitchen. He loves camping, hiking in the mountains, leading Cub Scouts with the boys, and making music of all kinds.

 Brett is thrilled to participate in Dancing with the Stars this year to support CYT and Volunteers in Medicine, where he enjoys volunteering in medicine. Enjoy the show!
