Brittany Clemons

Transplant Type: Kidney

Brittany Clemons is awaiting a new lease on life. In 2011, she was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. Although the disease is genetic, she is the only one in her family who suffers from it. Over time, Lupus has taken a toll on her kidneys, and she now faces kidney failure. Brittany has been on dialysis for two years, which affects her quality of life and leaves her very tired. Doctors say a kidney transplant is critical.

During this difficult time, Brittany is thankful for the love and support of her family and friends. She is a single mother of two daughters, ages 9 and 10, and her illness causes a lot of worry for them. Brittany enjoys being creative and making customized items, baking, cooking, and spending time with her daughters. She looks forward to receiving a transplant that will free her from dialysis and give her back her energy. Brittany wants nothing more than to be healthy so she can be an active mother, return to work, watch her daughters grow up, and live her life to the fullest. But right now, she needs your help.

Unfortunately, Brittany’s hope for a new life comes at a very high price.

The average kidney transplant costs more than $414,000, and that’s only the beginning. Even with insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant costs, Brittany still faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they’re as critical to her survival as the transplant itself.

Brittany lives 130 miles from her transplant center, and traveling back and forth for appointments can be expensive. When she receives her transplant, she will have to stay nearby while she recovers, incurring substantial expenses for travel, food, and lodging. Brittany’s health and dialysis schedule prevent her working, further adding to her financial burdens.

You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to NFT in honor of Brittany. If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the NFT Florida Transplant Fund, 3249 W. Sarazens Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Brittany Clemons" on the memo line.

Thank you for your generosity!
