Buddy Needs Hernia Surgery

When Buddy arrived at one of our rural shelter partners, it was determined he had a perineal hernia. A very painful condition that causes several organs to be displaced in the pelvis and abdomen and can make going to the bathroom challenging. It's not something that will sort itself out, Buddy needs surgery.

The vet at the shelter wasn't able to repair it so Homeward Trails and Buddy's rural shelter have both been working to find a vet who can perform the procedure on Buddy and give him a new lease on life. We have now figured that out, it's just a matter of helping offset the cost of the very expensive procedure.

Buddy will be better than new, but we depend on support to ensure we are able to continue to say yes to taking dogs like Buddy from our shelter partners and providing the care that our dogs need.
