Camp Sonshine International Guatemala 2016

Camp Sonshine International team will be conducting day and / or residential camps for the children in the community. These camps will entail games, crafts, sports, songs, dances, Bible lessons, skits and loads of fun. The destination of Guatemala became the determined place to go to as soon as it was introduced to me. The goal of being a member on this trip became confirmed as I prayed for the girls that I would encounter and realized how much camp changes lives after serving for one summer with Camp Sonshine. Seeing the smiles on the kids faces as they make friends and become introduced to God is a sight that will never get old. What I look forward to the most with this trip is showing these beautfil girls of the Prince of Peace home that they are loved and not everyone is out to hurt them. I am aware there are unfortunate events occuring everyday in the world, leaving children feeling helpess or as if there is nothing good to come from life. With Camp Sonshine, I'd like to make it a personal goal to show the love of Christ to these campers as well as show them that life as a kid or young adult can be super fun!
