SWWIM With Me On Give Miami Day 2025

My support for SWWIM is rooted in the belief that poetry provides a pathway for our spirit to find refuge, meaning and truth in ways few other forms of expression can. That SWWIM is devoted to giving women writers a platform speaks to my feminist commitment to equality in a world that sadly continues to fall short. We come from a place of abundance and yet we also face the real truth that without sustained commitment, women are far too often overlooked and underappreciated. Women poets have a particular perspective that the world needs more than ever. I’m proud to serve on the SWWIM board and to play a small part in helping poetry reach into the hearts and souls of our communities.
