Carol Kershaw

Transplant Type: Liver

Carol Kershaw is fighting for her life. In 2017, she was diagnosed with liver cancer. Her diagnosis came as a shock, as there is no family history of liver disease. Doctors now say a liver transplant is critical and Carol was added to the transplant waiting list last year.

During this difficult time, Carol is grateful for the love and support of her husband, Mark, and their family and friends. Carol is a mother and a grandmother, and her entire family worries about her health. She looks forward to receiving a transplant that will restore her energy and allow her to have a long life. Carol wants nothing more than to spend many more years with her family and watch her grandchildren grow up, but right now she needs your help.

The average liver transplant costs approximately $878,000, and that is only the beginning. Even with insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant costs, she still faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they are as critical to her survival as the transplant itself.

Carol works as a freelance court reporter and has to take time off from work for medical appointments. When she receives her transplant, she will have to stop working as she recovers, adding to her financial burdens.

You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to NFT in honor of Carol. If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the NFT Massachusetts Transplant Fund, 3249 W. Sarazens Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Carol Kershaw” on the memo line.

Thank you for your generosity!
