Guatemala and El Salvador - Southern Encounter
A nonprofit fundraiser supporting
Sister Parish IncFunding an event focused on strengthening our partnering relationships.
$950
raised by 9 people
$2,100 goal
This year, member communities in Guatemala and El Salvador requested a special event to talk about how to strengthen their international partnering relationships. Â The group also requested a talk on migration to learn about the impact of current U.S. immigration policies and how home countries can respond to the crisis.
All funds donated to this page will go directly to this event. Â Donations will help with transportation costs and meals for participants from El Salvador and Guatemala, as well as honorariums for speakers on migration and human rights. Â If we should exceed our fundraising goal, we will set the funds aside for the next Guatemala/El Salvador Encounter organized by and for the Central American communities that are part of Sister Parish. Â Â
Your donation will help member communities access knowledge, learn from each other's experiences, and support each other in prayer. Â This is this year's Southern Solidarity Walk, with stations for reflection and prayer in different locations as the group travels. Â These experiences are at the heart of the Sister Parish mission. Please help us make this encounter a reality for the southern communities.
