Cycle Across Illinois is a charity bicycle ride that benefits the Illinois chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (ILCOPS).  ILCOPS is an organization dedicated to providing financial support, emotional resources, and hope for surviving family members, loved ones, and co-workers of Illinois Police Officers killed in the line of duty.

Cycle Across Illinois is the biggest fundraiser for ILCOPS and has raised well over 1 million dollars.  This year will be the 22nd anniversary of the ride and my 13th time participating.

The ride will take place on July 9-12.  It will start in Edwardsville and end in Chicago, covering about 325 miles over 3 1/2 days.  There will be around 100 cyclists and 30 members of the support team.  The ride consists of active and retired law enforcement officers, survivors, and civilian supporters.

The motto of Cycle Across Illinois is to honor our heroes, remember the fallen, and support their families.  I hope you will consider donating, so those affected by an Illinois duty death can continue to receive assistance with their grief journey.

ILCOPS is a registered 501(c)(3) organization.

Follow the ride by joining Cycle Across Illinois on Facebook.
