Wuqu Kawoq's Critical Care Program

GlobeMed UT Austin is a student run non profit organization. We are one of over 60 chapters that comprise the GlobeMed network. As an organization, we believe that healthcare is a human right and thus should be accessible and affordable to all. We are partnered with Wuqu' Kawoq in Guatemala. 

Wuqu' Kawoq shares our vision for healthcare by providing medical services to the Indigenous Mayan population in rural Guatemala. Each year, GlobeMed UT Austin works to raise funds for Wuqu' Kawoq's projects. 

Our past projects include:

- water filtration systems

- family planning and birth control implants

- diabetes care and prevention

This year, we are working to fund our partner's critical care program that will work to increase ambulances and emergency care quality.

Your donation, no matter how big or small, helps us expand our work to bring equitable, sustainable healthcare to Santiago Sacatepéquez, Guatemala.
