Shay McAlister’s ACE Project Fundraiser!

The ACE Project is near and dear to my heart! I met Ms. Rose in 2015, at a vigil for her son Cory “ACE” Crowe. Her dedication and passion drew me in and I continued to follow her story as a journalist for years. In 2018, she told me about her biggest idea yet- to turn the abandoned property where Cory was killed into a community center. We worked together to find funding, contractors and furnishings to make the idea a reality and cut the ribbon on The ACE Place in 2019. 

Since then, the nonprofit has poured into hundreds of children who are at risk and given them resources and experiences to pick a productive path for their future. 

I am currently board president and honored to be a part of a small organization doing SO MUCH GOOD in Louisville.
