Greetings!
I hope 2020 has started out filled with hope for you and your family!
Exciting news! I have been called to serve in Zambia, Africa as part of a team of medical missionaries from my church—Oak Pointe Church in Novi, Michigan—to carry the love of Jesus Christ to the people of Zambia, Africa. I have actually wanted to serve on this mission for over 3 years and am finally able to fulfill the calling!
The Zambian people have great physical and spiritual needs that we want to help meet with this mission trip. Because of Malaria, many water-borne diseases, HIV/AIDS, and other deadly diseases, the average life expectancy is less than 45 years old according to the Zambian Ministry of Health. Nearly half of the population is under age 14, and a shockingly high percentage of Zambian children grow up as orphans.
Each year our church sends missionaries to Zambia. This year we will operate a medical, dental and optical clinic, along with a pharmacy, install bio-sand water filters in remote villages, partner with in-country missionaries, and participate in numerous outreach events. The trip will take place June 12-28, 2020.
God has called us, His church, to be the hands and feet of Jesus to take His justice and mercy into the world, to minister to the lost, the poor and the broken. He often uses a partnership to carry out that commission—some who send and some who go. I am inviting you to partner with me and to send me as I go to minister to the Zambian people in word and in deed. I have two specific needs—prayers and financial support. I ask that you pray for me and our whole team. Also please pray that God would miraculously open the hearts of the Zambian people and give us grace and favor with the local tribal leaders and those in authority. Your prayer support is our most important need.
I also need your financial partnership. My responsibility is to raise $4,500 which will help to cover my costs, and also help to pay for the medical supplies and water filters, all of which enables our team to minister to the Zambian people. We are investing in this mission as well by personally covering a significant portion of my expenses. I trust that God has called me to go, and that He will also provide the necessary resources.
Will you consider joining my mission team by contributing $25, $50, $100, $250, or more if you feel led? All financial support is tax-deductible. I realize that this is a financial burden in some ways, but also realize that you cannot out-give God. God is the one who provides, and he often uses the generosity of individuals to accomplish His plans, and blesses the individual as a result, for;
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10
Thank you for considering how you can be part of this great opportunity. I look forward to having you on my team as we partner to bring hope to those in desperate need.
Blessings,
Claire
