$550 goal

Hi, I'm a team captain for Rehabilitation Enables Dreams (RED) and I'm asking you to join my team by donating to this amazing organization!  My personal goal is to raise $550 and help RED reach its goal of raising $20,000 by December 31, 2021.

RED is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Restorative Justice Organization with a mission to keep people out of the criminal justice system - permanently - through programs that enhance the social, civic, and financial literacy of individuals referred to court.

RED's 2021 year-end fundraising goal is to raise $20,000 by December 31, 2021 to replace the funds from the Annual Flag Football Fundraiser that had to be cancelled in both 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19.

As you likely know, 2020 and 2021 have been a crazy ride for non-profit organizations like RED. However, RED is continuing to grow its reach and is changing the criminal justice system despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2022, RED will be expanding into two additional Georgia counties! RED will welcome both Fulton and Gwinnett counties in 2022 and will have a cohort in each county. As RED expands throughout Georgia, it helps #stoprecidivism by using proven and innovative programming and curriculum all while saving taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars per each participant.

The Problem: The United States makes up 5% of the world’s population yet holds 25% of the world’s prisoners. In Georgia, our incarceration rate is 31% higher than the national average with 53,000 people behind bars. 40% of Georgians have a criminal record. We also lead the nation with over 200,000 people on probation which is 321% higher than the national average. In Georgia, approximately 2 out of 3 people released from prison are rearrested within three years.

RED is solving the problem by creating a classroom atmosphere inside the courtroom and treats program participants as students rather than criminals. RED’s curriculum is structured to develop a student’s social, civic and financial literacy through task-oriented learning, engaging workshops, and interactive educational modules.

Students are paired with appropriate mentors based on our individual-needs intake assessment. Mentors support students in their personal development and guide them in the completion of program requirements. Upon graduation, student’s records are expunged and they are referred to higher education institutions and/or employment opportunities.

RED boasts a recidivism rate of less than 10% for its graduating participants! In comparison, the recidivism rate in the State of Georgia through typical adjudication for the same age group is above 60%!

RED’s 2021 Year End Fundraiser is even more important than ever before.  In prior years, our Annual Flag Football Fundraiser has raised approximately $20k - $25k. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we were forced to cancel the event in both 2020 and 2021.

We need your help to reach our Goal of raising $20k by December 31, 2021 to replace the funds from our Flag Football Fundraiser!  This will help RED continue its expansion throughout Georgia including Gwinnett and Fulton counties in 2022.

We sincerely THANK YOU for your support
