I love 5th Element Center for Dance for its unique commitment to nurturing both the artistry and well-being of youth through street and hip-hop dance. Unlike many other studios, 5E goes beyond traditional choreography and breaking, offering space and resources for exploring a diverse range of street and hip-hop styles. This approach not only helps dancers develop their technical skills but also fosters their personal growth within the dance community.

Additionally, 5th Element Center for Dance is dedicated to supporting the mental health and overall development of young dancers. The studio provides a supportive environment that extends beyond dance, incorporating educational elements such as tutoring to enhance the youth’s academic performance. As a black-owned studio, 5E also brings a unique cultural perspective that enriches the experience for all involved. For me, this holistic approach to dance education and personal development is unparalleled, making 5E a truly exceptional place.

Support 5th Element Center for Dance (5E): Keep Our Doors Open!

As a proud instructor at 5th Element Center for Dance (5E), I have seen firsthand the transformative power of dance and the hip hop arts in the lives of our students. For over four years, 5E has been a cornerstone in providing dance education and social emotional and academic programming, empowering low-income and Black and Brown youth to become compassionate, knowledgeable, and expressive artists connected to themselves and their communities.

Our Black-led organization centers hip hop pedagogies, culture, and dance forms, offering a vital medium of expression and reflection for our students. Despite serving over 100 youth in Denver and Aurora with free dance classes, tutoring, social emotional and relational wellness classes, hip hop history and culture classes, and pre-professional dance opportunities, we are facing financial challenges that threaten to close our doors.

This past year has brought unexpected financial difficulties. We opened our brick-and-mortar dance center and signed a lease, expecting increased grant funding. However, due to the economic downturn, grant funding has decreased, and our fundraising campaigns have raised less money. We urgently need to raise $47,000 to cover our rent and keep our programs running through the end of the second quarter (November).

How Your Donation Will Help:

Your contribution will be used to:

• $6,000: Pay the rent for July.
• $23,000: Get current on rent payments through July.
• $35,000: Get current on rent payments through July and pay rent through September.
• $47,000: Get current on rent payments through July and pay rent through the end of Quarter 2 (November).

First Campaign Goal: Raise $35,000 by the end of August to get current on rent payments through August and ensure our programs continue uninterrupted.
