An update from BGCCA
Located in the heart of the Capital Region, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area (BGCCA) serves over 1,900 youth daily, has over 250 staff at 19 locations, provides over 1,400,000 hours of programming each year and serves over 250,000 free meals annually.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, BGCCA has been forced to suspend operation of its after-school locations. While our sites may be temporarily closed, our top priority has not changed: the health and safety of the children who need us most.
To continue serving the needs of our community, BGCCA is utilizing our commercial kitchen to supply a mobile meal service which now provides 2,100 breakfasts and lunches to 12 key housing sites in Albany and Rensselaer County. To meet the operational costs for this critical service, our organization is currently using our limited financial reserves. Proper funding could allow us the ability to produce 3,000 meals per day and serve more members of the community who need us most.

Fingerpaint is kicking off “Color Their World,” a nationwide fundraising effort designed to give kids at Boys & Girls Clubs in our surrounding communities continued access to safe and fun-filled programming that includes childcare, meals and snacks, academic support, games, arts, lasting friendships, vibrant memories and more!

- Provides over 1,900 Club members with access to caring mentors, academic help and meals, especially when schools are closed
- 93% of club teens expect to graduate from high school
- 88% expect to complete some post-secondary education
- Annually serves over 250,000 free hot meals to Capital Region youth
