An update from AZ!
Right now we have 10 locations open to serve the children of healthcare, first responders and essential workers, many of whom are already our Club members.
We quickly adapted our operations to meet the crisis needs of the families we serve. Â This includes:
- Expanded our hours (7/8am â 6pm)Â
- Focused operations on essential service workers like healthcare, utilities, public safety and othersÂ
- Partnered with local healthcare and utilities to make employees aware of the childcare/food availabilityÂ
- Screening staff and kids for any signs of illnessÂ
- Consolidated current operations into 11 Clubs in the areas of highest need
- Serving 700 â 1,000 kids each day
- Re-staffed our Clubs so youth are in small groups (1:9 ratios) during these extended hours and the kids are in rotations so they have art, technology, recreation and more
- Providing breakfast, lunch and snack daily to each child
- Implemented enhanced deep cleaning protocols throughout the day based on CDC and Arizona Department of Health guidelines
We have begun collaborating with schools to ensure vulnerable youth who have no access to technology, or a supportive adult at home, will not fall behind. Â Youth are able to complete their assignments and school packets at the Club with the staff support. Each Club has a technology center with multiple computers and students can bring in their own or school devices and have access to Wi-Fi. Â We are working to identify financial resources to open additional Clubs to serve as Academic Enrichment Centers. Â

Fingerpaint is kicking off âColor Their World,â a nationwide fundraising effort designed to give kids at Boys & Girls Clubs in our surrounding communities continued access to safe and fun-filled programming that includes childcare, meals and snacks, academic support, games, arts, lasting friendships, vibrant memories and more!

- 97% of club teens expect to graduate from high school
- 88% expect to complete some post-secondary education
