The Cozad Library Foundation was formed as a non-profit corporation to receive and accept gifts, bequests, grants, and devises of funds, personal property and real property, and to hold, manage and sell any and all property which may come to it for the express purpose of furthering the growth and the effectiveness of the Wilson Public Library in Cozad.
The Cozad Library Foundation helps the Wilson Public Library with programs that promote literacy and tourism. In the past year, the Cozad Library Foundation has sponsored DJ Bobby Devine at Music Mondays, Movie Night behind the Henri in July, and Wildlife Encounters at Wilson Public Library, as well as purchasing miscellaneous extras for the library, for example, an outdoor camera security system and a new smart tv in the board room. The Foundation is finishing up the brick walkway in the Art Garden with landscaping fall of 2023.
The Cozad Library Foundation continues to make the Art Garden on the south side of the library its focus and is finishing up the brick walkway in the Art Garden with landscaping fall of 2023. The next priority is fundraising for two additional sculptures as well as lighting for the area. Updating landscaping in other areas around the library is also a focus. The Cozad Library Foundation recently partnered with the library and Cozad Medical Clinic in the program Books for Babies, which gives a book to each newborn coming to Cozad Medical Clinic for their first wellness check. The Foundation sponsors the annual book sale at the library in August and sponsors the Make Your Mark on Cozad Award each year in September in conjunction with the library’s celebration of International Dot Day.
