In 2013 I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis. Since then I've been struggling with all the problems that come along with this lovely disorder and I'm not only talking about the symptoms. When I became sick I had to give up my hobby of skydiving and I slowly began to lose my friends. More recently I've lost family members because they were sadly uneducated about GP. The day I said goodbye to my brother was the day i decided I didn't want anyone to feel anything like what I was felt. So I created a support group on Facebook (Gastroparesis: Fighting Back!) so that I could be there for anybody if they ever needed somebody. I also threw myself into crafting to keep me occupied and not focused on the negativity that seemed to have invaded my life. I used to only craft during the holidays for Christmas because it meant so much more to me to make a gift rather then buy it, so me crafting easily became a positive outlet. When my support group started to take off I noticed my mood changed. I was happier. I no longer felt alone and a lot of the members from my group and other support groups liked my crafts! So I decided to give a fundraiser a shot. Crafting and advocating make me happy why not use them to help the GP community with a fundraiser!
I currently make custom tile coaster and wall hangings. I'm always working on new crafts to add to my etsy page. I'm currently exploring the world of homemade candles with natural organic ingredients and dream catchers!! The link to my etsy page is below. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
