We are approaching our 20th anniversary in 2019 with the energy and growth trajectory of a start-up. Dancermusic.com  said we have “been growing like a wildflower in the past few years. [The company has] established a unique and resonant identity that has captivated Chicago dance audiences.” And critic Lauren Warnecke called our 2016-2018 project American Catracho “a tour de force” (Chicago Magazine) and “easily [Wilfredo Rivera’s] most promising work” (Chicago Tribune).

We need your help to keep this momentum going. Please make a gift today to directly support our Cofounder and Artistic Director Wilfredo Rivera and the other artists working this winter to prepare for 2019 - our 20th Anniversary season. Your donation will help make "mesmerizing" "thrilling" "haunting" art  that will impact thousands of people.

Our plans for 2019 are not final, but we know they will include the final development of the full American Catracho suite, three years in the making. We will also welcome back Monique Haley to continue building ROOT: mwanzo wa mwili ni roho, and make at least one more new piece – announcement coming soon. 

We will host interactive events and concert performances across the city and partner with dozens of artists and organizations. All of this will form the tapestry of community you’ve come to expect from Cerqua Rivera – artists and art work that integrate diverse viewpoints and art forms to tell moving, sophisticated stories.
