WHO WE ARE

Our mission is to destigmatize mental health in the AAPI community through events, outreach and education, and open conversations.


Changing Tides is a program of Little Tokyo Service Center (Los Angeles, CA) that began back in 2018 after a group of young adults saw a need for spaces to discuss AAPI mental health. In the past, we have hosted a youth paint night, a mental health art exhibition, and a day-long mental health conference. Since the start of the pandemic, we have pivoted to hold online events, such as workshops on impostor syndrome and resilience. We also recently launched The Changing Tides Podcast, where we invite guests to share about their mental health journeys. 

We are grateful for the community support that helped sustain our program through a difficult year. 2020 underscored the importance of mental health and we look forward to continuing to expand conversations!


HOW YOUR FUNDS CAN MAKE AN IMPACT

Your funds would support the following:

- our upcoming pilot mental health scholarship program that will help subsidize therapy for those with financial need

- ongoing workshops, conferences, and events to increase mental health dialogues and create safe spaces to connect
