production expenses and form a professional media and public relations team!

If you are an educator, parent, or a citizen concerned about our children's futureplease consider donating $10 to our goal. If you can donate a bit more, thank you! “If a student isn’t in a psychologically safe place, their ability to learn will essentially be hijacked – no matter how good the teacher.”

— Dr. Melissa Hughes, neuroscience researcher

We need your help! School is the cornerstone of each child’s world, and for more children than you may think, it’s the only setting where they’ll receive real care, compassion, and protection in their whole day. As parents or educators, we know that schools must be safe, therapeutic spaces where kids can heal from their trauma and learn resilience. But how do we get there?

Given this growing need, CEI has developed the podcast series Cultivating Resilience: A Whole Community Approach for Alleviating Trauma in Schools, a conversation about childhood trauma and how it manifests in students' health, cognition, and academic learning. Student trauma has myriad sources: poverty, incarceration, substance misuse, bullying, and chaos at home are only a few. In each episode, you’ll hear:

  • Interviews with world-renowned authors and psychologists
  • Q&As with educators and school leaders
  • Practical and proven approaches in trauma relief for families and students

How can you help? We aim to raise $25,000 to address trauma in schools through our new podcast. These funds will be used to offset the considerable design, engineering, editorial, and public relations expenses that we've incurred in bringing a series of this size to the public. This is a critical next step to draw attention to our cause on a national scale. Addressing trauma in schools simply can’t wait: teen suicide is skyrocketing, anxiety and depression are rampant, and well-being and academic performance are plummeting.

Our mission at CEI & CTIPP: CEI strives to accelerate the adoption and implementation in schools of research-backed practices that address the holistic needs of students, staff, and parents. CTIPP works to create a healthy, just, resilient, and trauma-informed society where all individuals, families, and communities have the social, political, cultural, economic, and spiritual opportunities and support necessary to thrive. These two organizations, in partnership with The Collaborative to Alleviate Childhood Trauma, will bring the research to you, your family, and your school through the Cultivating Resilience podcast.

The COVID-19 pandemic has catalyzed the children’s mental health epidemic. Still, technology has given us the opportunity to access wisdom from child experts and cutting-edge research from the world’s foremost researchers. Students can do amazing things in an environment of caring adults, heart-centered practices, and unconditional support. *CEI is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax-deductible*
