Barefoot Republic - Half Marathon Fundraiser
A nonprofit fundraiser supporting
Barefoot RepublicRunning my first race so that kids can attend camp and be impacted for eternity.
$2,325
raised by 31 people
$3,000 goal
We've almost hit my original goal of $2,000.
Thank you to everyone that has generously donated so far. My original goal was $2,000 and we are almost there already. So, I'm upping my goal to $3,000. Since I signed up to train for my first half marathon on January 9th I have already ran/walked over 76 miles. Never thought I would be able to say something like that, but I'm committed to the journey. Thanks for joining me in the process, encouraging me and helping impact kids.
Family, friends, or anyone reading this please read the full story below and then I’m asking each of you to do two things: 1) Please contribute. My goal is $2,000 and this will provide scholarships for 8 kids to attend camp (but I would really like to far exceed that amount). Any amount is greatly appreciated, but I’m hoping for at least 100 donors to contribute $20 each. 2) Pray for me and encourage me while I’m on this journey.
Over the past year or two I have been searching for ways to be more impactful for His Kingdom, whether that be volunteering to pack meals at my church to support Feed My Starving Children, building a house in Mexico with Casas Por Cristo, or now signing up to run a half marathon to raise funds for Barefoot Republic Camp in Kentucky.
So, the thought of running a half marathon is honestly frightening, and I’ve only got 14 weeks to train. The last time I ran a mile or longer was the spring semester of 9th grade, and that was 39 years ago in 1981.
My real hope in participating in this fundraiser is that at least one kid’s life is impacted for eternity. Impacting just one kids life will make the hours of training and the pain I’m certain my 53-year-old body will endure all worthwhile. Who knows what that one kid could accomplish if just given the opportunity to be surrounded by people that will invest in him/her spiritually and emotionally and care for them even for just one week of camp? The possibilities are endless.
So, please join me in this process and help positively impact the lives of these kids. The race isn’t until April, but I would really like to get my fundraising goal accomplished by March 1.

Thanks,
