Update posted 5 years ago

We are so excited to announce that we have reached our goal of $5,000! Thank you so much to everyone who donated. Because of you we can have the exact set we envisioned! Of course there are other funds to cover besides a set, so if there are still people who want to donate you certainly can! Our cast also thanks you for your continuous support, and we can't wait to see you on May 17th and 18th for the production of Crimes of the Heart!

Our Wonderful Cast!

Alisha and Molly are raising money through CVDAA to produce and direct a production of Crimes of the Heart by Beth Henley.

Here is Alisha's story:

Throughout my life I have had a love for performing. From dance recitals to homemade fashion shows, there has always been this passion I feel for the arts that I can’t get rid of. CVDAA introduced me to the world of theater in 6th grade, and I have continued to be obsessed with acting 6 years later. This program has given me opportunity and an education that is irreplaceable, and it is very dear to my heart. I have been able to do many different types of shows; originals, classics, Shakespeare, and more. CVDAA has helped me grow as an actor and as a person in general.

The chance to direct was something I have desired for quite some time, and I’m very excited to be able to do it now. It would mean an incredible amount to me for family and friends to join me in this project. The contributions made by all of you can help form the show into what it needs to be. Any donation is hugely appreciated, and I would love for all of you to be a part of this project! Thank you for all the support you have continued to show, it means the absolute world!

Here is Molly’s Story:

Five years ago, I joined CVDAA and performed in my first ever show. I immediately fell in love with acting and everyone in the program. CVDAA has taught me how to be creative and how to express my emotions through acting. By the end of middle school, I decided that my future would be somewhere in the world of dramatic arts. During high school I have gotten the opportunity to act more than ever because of CVDAA. Doing 3 or more shows with CVDAA each year, I’ve become more and more confident in my acting skill. My mentors have even helped connect me to the professional world of theater. CVDAA has given me so much, and now I want to take the chance to give back to this amazing program. Getting the chance to direct a show for CVDAA means the world to me, so thank you for supporting the dreams of Alisha and I.
