The National High Performance Program is a feeder program for the Youth and Junior National teams of USA Volleyball, and was created with the sole purpose of training and developing top level athletes for the Olympic teams.  The Iowa Volleyball Region is excited to announce that 200 Iowa athletes have been selected to take part in our Iowa High Performance Training Camp and from that camp approximately 60 Iowa athletes will be selected to take part in the 2021 USA Volleyball All-Star Championships.

Camp rosters and our teams are selected based on performance alone.  Camp is comprised of amazing athletes from across our Region (all of Iowa and some border areas in IL, WI, NE, and SD) and these campers have already made it through on level of evaluation as campers are selected based off a tryout.  It is a great honor to receive a camp invitation.

One Boy’s Youth team, one Boy’s Select team, two Girl’s Select, one Girl’s Youth, and two Girl’s Future Select team will compete in the USA Volleyball All-Star Championships in Orlando, FL, from July 19-26.   These teams will compete against regional High Performance teams from across the nation, as well as International teams and USA National High Performance teams.  Historically, our teams are top competitors and we have brought home many medals from these events--a great accomplishment for the players and a tribute to the growing success of the Iowa High Performance program.

Although we are honored and excited to represent the Iowa region at both the training camp and the championship, there are many expenses associated with this level of competition, including tournament entry fees, travel, lodging, and uniforms.  Furthermore, considering most of these athletes already show their commitment to volleyball in Iowa and play on their regular season club teams, the HP experience can be a financial burden to the average family.  Camp costs can vary from $180-$495 and if selected for travel, they will have an additional $875 in dues.  Any contribution toward their fees that you make will be greatly appreciated, and will help raise the level of volleyball in the Iowa Region.
