Hello Davis Dance Family, Friends, and Newcomers! Coming off the success of our 15th season we’re excited to begin the journey for our Sweet Sixteenth Season as Denver’s Premiere Contemporary Jazz Company

Davis Dance provides access and opportunity for artists in Denver to rise to their full potential either in our professional company, Davis Dance Next Generation, or being a part of our Share the Stage performance collaborations. Doing what we have a great passion for alongside other great artists is the key to our success.

In the spirit of collaboration and elevating emerging artists in our community. This season we embark on a Davis Dance first in programing history. We’re honored to have a season elevating women's artistic voices in Denver. We are planning to premiere works by all women choreographers in our concerts. Also, the guest companies participating in our Share the Stage Program are founded and led by women. Yes, we are letting the ladies carry us into greatness for our Sweet Sixteen Season with pride, power, and a diverse line up of amazing dance artists from many different backgrounds.

Our annual gala “Light up the Night”, this year is themed Sixteen Candles of course  returns to the Curtis Ballroom on October 14th. Get your best black tie attire or cocktail attire ready for a fun evening of fundraising that includes a competitive silent auction, games, heart warming testimonies, great dance from the company and our pre-professional ensemble Davis Dance Next Generation, savory food, and of course decadent desserts to celebrate our Sweet 16th. You don’t want to miss the kick off event of the season.

Our opening season concert series Next: Hear Her Voice will open at our home the Elaine Wolf Theatre. It will feature works by our Resident Choreographer Rachael Harding, a Denver Dance Legend Hannah Khan, Broadway Dance Legend Candy Brown, and retired Davis Dance Principal Dancer Aubrey Klinger Fearns. Our Share the Stage guest will be Maureen Breeze Dance Theater. We're excited to present this company for the first time in our concerts.

This season we will bring our programming to the Aurora community by performing the first time at the Aurora Performing Arts Center in Davis at the Fox. It will be a collaborative concert with Davis Dance, Davis Dance Next Generation, and Aurora Dance Arts Directed by Davis Dance Principal Dancer Maggie Chapman. Expanding our reach into the Aurora arts community is a goal we’re making happen this season.

Our annual Summer Night of Dance in May of 2024 will be entitled “See Her Voice” in the spirit of our Sweet Sixteen anniversary theme. The featured women choreographers will be Rachael Harding, Aubrey Klinger Fearns, Former Principal Dancer with Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Chloe-Grant Abel, Helen Estrella, and the woman of Davis Dance will premiere a piece as well.  All of these works except for Rachael Harding’s work will be world premieres. What an exciting time for Davis Dance and we want you to be a part of it! The Share the Stage guest artist will be Flamenco Denver. This will be Maria Vazquez’s company of dancers and musicians third time performing with Davis Dance. We are honored to have them back!

Our summer will take us into the communities we serve performing in some of the best dance festivals Colorado has to offer. Davis Dance teaches and performs in the Presenting Denver Dance Festival. Followed by our annual return to the Mile High Dance Festival hosted by Cleo Parker Robinson Dance. We will conclude our season in Boulder, Colorado at the Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop teaching and performing in that community as well.

You don’t want to miss any of this celebratory season. We’re excited to host, uplift, provoke your thoughts, inspire, and give you all the “Dance That Feeds Your Soul” that Davis Dance is known for. See you at the theatre, and don’t forget to bring a friend or two so they can celebrate and be a part of our Sweet Sixteen anniversary season of women in power and inspiration.

Let’s Dance!
