Deborah Patton
What if you were living on borrowed time?
Deborah Patton is awaiting a new lease on life. In 2017, Deborah was diagnosed with end-stage renal failure. Her diagnosis came as a shock, as she hadn’t experienced any symptoms, and there is no family history of kidney disease. She’s now on dialysis, which takes a toll on her quality of life and leaves her very tired. Doctors say a kidney transplant is necessary.
During this difficult time, Deborah is thankful for the love and support of her family and friends. She has three children and four grandchildren, and they all worry about her health. Unfortunately, Deborah’s dialysis schedule, failing health, and finances prevent her from traveling to visit them the way she would like. Deborah looks forward to receiving a transplant that will free her from dialysis and give her back her energy. She longs to have her life return to normal and be able to do the simple things she once took for granted. But right now, she needs your help.
Unfortunately, Deborah’s hope for a new life comes at a very high price.
The average kidney transplant costs more than $414,000, and that’s only the beginning. Even with insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant costs, Deborah still faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they’re as critical to her survival as the transplant itself. Deborah had to stop working due to her declining health, further adding to her financial burdens.
