Shelter Full and Understaffed

Early this week a rural VA shelter reached out to us for help.  The shelter was full and desperately in need of help getting placement for any of the animals in their care.  At the time, they had ONE staff member at the shelter who was caring for the animals while simultaneously trying to network with organizations to get these animals to rescues.  

This under-resourced shelter can sometimes have almost 40 dogs in their care while only having 3 staff spread over the course of the day and week to tend to all their needs, help adopters with meet and greets and reach out to rescue organizations for help with placement.  There are simply not enough hours in the day for 3 people to be able to handle all those tasks while also giving each animal the individualized exercise and attention they need to thrive.  The shelter is doing their best with the resources they have but they need our help and we are asking for yours.

Delilah is just 8 months old and is alone at the shelter.  She was found as a stray along with her Mom and sibling - both of whom have been adopted while Delilah continues to be left behind.  This super sweet pup loves other dogs and we know she would get scooped up by our adopters in a heartbeat.  With your help we can get Delilah to us THIS WEEK and help a shelter who is desperately in need.
