DRC Missions Trip '17: Serving the Saints in Asia

Dear Family & Friends,

I want to thank you for your support last year, both spiritually and financially, as you gave me the opportunity to serve the church in Asia by equipping the saints through the preaching of the word. We were invited to work among the unreached tribes in Asia with an indigenous pastor for the 3rd year in a row to strengthen the few existing churches with the hope of seeing the local believers plant gospel centered churches among their own people. We trust that the Lord was glorified and will bear much fruit through our mutually beneficial partnership for years to come. 

Though we trust in the Sovereign grace of God, the saints in Asia continue to live among several unreached people groups. Historically, the church continues to be under-resourced and lacks the body of believers to evangelize and disciple their own, many of who are either Muslim or Hindu. This is why our partnership continues to play a critical role because our presence in accordance with their long-term objectives could help strengthen the leaders to make the disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Last year we taught on a gospel centered view of marriage and family discipleship and this year we have been asked to preach on a theology of work with a focus on using business as a means for outreach and bi-vocational ministry.

The trip will take place September 16th – October 1st and it is my prayer that you will revive your concern for the church and partner with me in the gospel by supporting me in two ways. The first is by praying for the church in Asia, namely that the Holy Spirit would continue to raise up leaders from among the people who will be courageous to speak the word of God without fear. The second is that you would share your joy with me in the gospel by supporting me financially. Each member of the team is responsible for raising their own money for the trip. In order to be fully funded, I need to raise $3000. My prayer is that 30 of you would send a gift of $100 or consider donating what you have decided in your heart. “Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek the profit which increases to your account,” that is giving to see the gospel advance to nations.

• Wisdom from the Lord and joy as I sermon prep, so that I may expound the word of God with clarity for the believers in Asia
