"The difference between broken communities and thriving ones is the presence of women who are valued and empowered." - Michelle Obama

Women Build is an annual, worldwide event engaging women within our community to come together to help families build a decent and affordable place they can call home. We are excited to be building two homes in Jupiter that will empower two families while building a brighter future for themselves and their families through affordable home ownership.

In the coming weeks, we will be joining this effort and volunteering with the Delta Sigma Theta Team to help build alongside future homeowners, the Pierre and Lamour families. As a part of our commitment to strengthening our community, we will be raising much-needed funds that will help to pay for material costs associated with home construction.

Please help by supporting our efforts. Your tax-deductible donation will make a difference and help to build strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable shelter for the Lamour and Pierre families.

About the Lamour Family

Jacquelin and Garlande Lamour are originally from Haiti. They have two daughters, Harlande (14) and Kaisha (11). Jacquelin works as a bus driver for the Palm Beach County School District and Garlande works at Publix. Both Harlande and Kaisha are excellent students who love math and reading. The Lamour Family has been working towards their goal of home ownership for many years and is excited for the opportunity to work together as a family to build their own home.

"Never give up, that is the key to making your dreams come true." -Jacquelin Lamour

About the Pierre Family

Achille and Aline Pierre are the proud parents of their daughter Leida (17). They will also be sharing their home with Achille’s mother, Germaine. The Pierre Family is originally from Haiti and have worked very hard to bring their family to the United States. Both Achille and Aline work at Admiral’s Cove. Leida is a senior at Dwyer High School and works part time at a day care center. Leida plans to join the National Guard after graduation. After returning from basic training this summer, Leida will be attending Palm Beach State College and has been accepted into the nursing program. Achille and Aline are excited to be able to invest in their future by becoming homeowners and can’t wait to earn their sweat equity hours.

Please join with us and help empower these families and build strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable housing.
