Donations still needed; A big THANKS to all that donated so far!!

We received notice from the NYC shelter about a broken leg rabbit. It was going on two days that Parker was sitting in a shelter cage in shock and pain. AARR really didn’t have the room or resources at the moment, but we weren’t going to turn our backs on this little broken guy. Parker was transported to The Center for Avian & Exotic Medicine in whom we have full trust and confidence.
As you can see from the x-ray, Parker's leg is totally destroyed with several fractures.  There’s just no recovering normal function of the leg and the best solution is amputation.

Indeed he will be better off as a tripod and able to ambulate normally after some adjustment. We don’t know how he got into this state as he was brought to the shelter as a stray.

He can’t be more than 2 months old, but he’s the little devil and loves to run and explore even with his 3 legs. He is gobbling up his greens and has a walk-in litter box. He has pleading eyes and is a little lonely.

We are doing our best to give gentle kisses and let him run around his foster’s apartment where he’s safely mingling with an old blind girl and an AARR sanctuary non ambulatory bun.

AND so AARR is left with expenses we weren’t prepared for. The surgery cost us $835 + meds + neuter + fecal testing easy adds up to $1100... probably more.

Thanks from all of us at AARR
