Stuck in a shelter with special needs for over a year, Dirk continues to get passed over and REALLY needs our help. We want to get him safely to Homeward Trails where we can get him to our fantastic vet partners and in a loving foster home until the day he's adopted.
Dirk is a young guy growing up in the shelter with Soi Dog Foundation in Phuket, Thailand. He loves people and other cats. Dirk came to the shelter over a year ago with a fractured leg. They were able to address this but found he also regurgitates when he eats. After x-rays and blood tests, they still can't tell what the issue is for this guy. They found that if he eats standing up that he doesn't regurgitate and the food stays down. This is how Dirk has been eating for the past year to manage his condition.
The Foundation has done everything they can for him, but we think our vets can do more. We know we can do more for him just by getting him out of a cage and into a foster home where are amazing vet partners can see if we can make his life easier. Our rescue quote from the vet partner is $2,000 for observation, bloodwork, GI panel, ultrasound, x-rays, and expected medication trial. If he needs a procedure, we'll address that then.
Please consider a donation going into the New Year to give this boy a new life outside the shelter and in a home where he can enjoy life with kitty friends and lots of human cuddles! We know it's a lot of money, but we're the only one stepping up to help him. We also know our amazing supporters can see this boy deserves a chance and will help make this rescue possible!
