Dixon Has Been Discharged!

Update posted 3 years ago

We are ecstatic to announce that Dixon's health has improved enough to be released form hospitalized care. He will continue to receive specialized care from our friends at a partner no-kill rescue who are better equipped to provide Dixon the around-the-clock care he will need for the next few weeks.

Although Dixon has been transferred to another rescue, the Humane Society is still responsible for paying the emergency medical bill. The final bill came out to be $4,332.11. We are so thankful that we were able to help save Dixon's life but now we need to gather the funds to pay for his treatment.

We thank everyone that has donated and urge you to continue to share Dixon's story in an attempt to meet our fundraising goal.

DIXON'S STORY

Dixon is a 6 year old male cat who was recently surrendered to the shelter. His owner knew he had some medical issues, but could not afford to take him to the vet for diagnosis. Our medical team assessed Dixon right after intake and diagnosed him with diabetes. As of 6:00pm Thursday, September 2nd, Dixon is in critical condition and is being hospitalized at an emergency veterinary clinic overnight. We pray he pulls through! Please consider donating to help us provide the best possible care for Dixon.

Thank you!
